- Initial Visit Package: Lactation Consultation + CranioSacral Therapy (2 hours & 15 minutes)
- Subsequent Visit Package: Lactation Consultation + CranioSacral Therapy (1 hour & 45 minutes)
Please Note:
- Lactation Consultation is only covered by select extended medical plans under private duty nursing. This is only because the IBCLC at Womb To Wings is a Registered Nurse in private practice.
- CranioSacral Therapy with a Registered Massage Therapist is covered under extended medical under Massage Therapy.
Lactation Consultation
Why see an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)?
- Learn techniques on how to hold and position your baby on the breast,
- The IBCLC will assess the suck, swallow, breathing and tongue function of an infant,
- Help increase or decrease milk supply
- Help address nipple and breast pain, feeding difficulties and breast infections.
- Support with special feeding strategies for premature babies, multiples, or infants with medical conditions such as heart disorders, cleft palate or tongue ties.
*IBCLC is someone who has studied the comprehensive science of lactation and put in the most hours (~1,000 hours!) observing and working with nursing families & is internationally recognized.
*CLC, CLE, Lactation Consultant or a La Leche League Leader has taking a breastfeeding course usually between 20-100 hours.
CranioSacral Therapy with RMT
Bodywork for babies to address concerns of feeding & general health:
- Tongue, jaw & neck tension
- Tongue & lip ties
- Body tension ie. arching, colic, gas, reflux, constipation
- Torticollis, head flattening
- Birth Injury ie. hematoma, forceps, vacuum, dislocation, fracture
- Breathing struggles ie. sinus, ribs, congestion
- Neurological ie. startle reflex, hypersensitivity, nerve compression, seizures
*At Womb To Wings CranioSacral Therapy Treatment is with a Registered Massage Therapist and is within the scope of practice of Registered Massage Therapy to be submitted as an Extended Medical Benefit.
