CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle light-touch manual therapy that can be effective in supporting the whole body especially the central nervous system. The central nervous system influences every other major body system and function from digestion, to breathing, to blood circulation & so much more. As the control centre of the body it promotes your child's innate natural healing abilities.
By supporting the central nervous system and releasing restrictions throughout the body, CranioSacral Therapy has shown to bring about profound healing. And because it's so gentle and non-invasive, newborns and premature babies can benefit from this essential therapy.
A typical CranioSacral Therapy session takes place in a quiet setting with the baby resting at ease on a massage table or on a parent. The idea is for the baby to feel comfortable, close to familar people and supported.
Using a light-touch, generally no more than the weight of a nickel, the therapist monitors the rhythm of the fluid that's flowing around the central nervous system to detect potential problems. We also assess body tension and fascial ristriction that can be affecting baby’s body. Delicate hands-on techniques are then used to release any tensions that may be affecting your baby.
Please Note we work at baby's pace so we are sometimes working through feedings, naps, in between play sessions & we accommodate diaper changes & any other needs baby might have during a session.

Results: In view of the fact that the global GMA (primary outcome) showed no difference between groups and the GMOS (detailed GMA-secondary outcome) did not deteriorate in the IG, craniosacral therapy seems to be safe in preterm infants
The Association for Neonatology in Reggio Calabria feels that Craniosacral Therapy is a precious tool especially on premature babies and newborns as well as all ages. This article talks about CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and babies with tongue-tie. Craniosacral therapy (CST) has its origin in osteopathy, which teaches that structure and function are reciprocally interrelated. When structure is compromised, function will be as well. CST is a perfect complement to help these infants' bodies release the tensions created as well as to aid in rebalancing structurally and somatically. A case study will illuminate the tremendous impact CST can have on children suffering from tongue-tie
This article looks at the role of bodywork and explain why a tongue restriction isn’t always down to a tight frenulum. There is a before and after photo of the woman's tongue to illustrate the difference one CST appointment made.
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle method of freeing a child’s ET of obstruction or congestion, which can promote drainage of substances out of the middle ear and relieve excessive pressure from inside the middle ear.
infants who’ve experienced head trauma and injuries.
